Heralded by the press and the industry as a force to be reckoned with, Pharrell has created his own individual masterpiece, called In My Mind. The album highlights the diversified man. Reviews:
The days of futzing around with B-list mugs like Chad Hugo and Spymob via N.E.R.D. are over. Pharrell Williams is a megastar, and he can only be expected to appear in video and audio format with other megastars. That means the first single from this inexplicably delayed solo debut features Gwen Stefani ("Can I Have It Like That?") and the second features Kanye West ("Number 1"). Perhaps for the third, Pharrell will fly around the world really fast the opposite way, turn back time (like Superman did to save Lois Lane in the original movie), and nab a Michael Jackson cameo from when he was still cool. More likely, this nicely divided collection of seven hip-hop and seven R&B cuts will reignite the falsetto man's in-front-of-the-camera career. Even if it doesn't have a duet with Mariah.
